#RenuRasoi  #Aluchi Vadi  #Steamed  #Colocasia #Leaf  #Snack Nowadays, during the monsoon season, very tender and small colocasia (arbi/taro) leaves are growing in my pot.  Since I had very little time today, I prepared this quick version of Aluchi Vadi.  It has the same delicious traditional taste but is much easier and faster to make. Ingredients (1 cup = 150 ml) *Washed & finely chopped colocasia (taro) leaves, – 2 cups *Tamarind – a lemon-sized piece *Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup *Rice flour – ½ cup *Red chilli powder – 3 teaspoons *Salt – 1½ teaspoons *Sugar – 1 teaspoon *Coriander powder – 3 teaspoons *Carom seeds (ajwain) – ¼ teaspoon *Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon *White sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon Method 1. Patur Veg

This vegetable is available only in rainy season. These seasonal vegetables is called as "रानभाजी"

Since this vegetable is very healthy one should eat it at least once in the rainy season .

It cures indigestion as well as it helps to increase appetite. 

Very tasty and easy to prepare.

You can get these vegetables  in the local market in rainy season.

In some areas this veg is also called as "गुनगुण्याची भाजी"

Ingredients 

1 Cup...150 ml

*Patur Veg... finely chopped...3 cups

*Yellow moong dal... 1/2 Cup 

*Garlic pods... 6

*Oil... 4 tbspn 

*Mustard seeds... 1/2 tsp 

*Turmeric powder... 1/2 tsp

*Red chilli powder... 1/2 tsp 

*Salt... 1/2 tsp 

*Lemon juice... 1 tsp 

*Chopped coriander... 1 tbspn 

*Grated coconut... 1 tbspn 

Method...

*Wash and soak yellow moong dal in sufficient water for 2 hours.

*Here I have taken 2 bundle s of Patur Veg.

Clean and take leaves only. Wash it thoroughly and chop finely. This will be approximately 3 cups. Even if it is less or more, it's okay.

*Slice the garlic.

*Heat oil in a iron kadhai. Add mustard seeds and after it splutter add sliced garlic.

Let the garlic be light brown in colour.

*Add turmeric powder and chopped Patur Veg. Saute on medium flame for 2 minutes.

*Add salt and red chilli powder. Saute for 3 minutes.

*Drain out the water from moong dal.

*Add soaked moong dal and saute for 2 minutes. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 more minutes.

*Remove the lid mix properly and once again cook for 2 minutes. 

*Switch off the Gas. Immediately remove the veg in another pan.

*Add lemon juice, chopped coriander and grated coconut.

*Serve hot with Dal Rice or Roti.
