Since I had very little time today, I prepared this quick version of Aluchi Vadi. It has the same delicious traditional taste but is much easier and faster to make. Ingredients (1 cup = 150 ml) *Washed & finely chopped colocasia (taro) leaves, – 2 cups *Tamarind – a lemon-sized piece *Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup *Rice flour – ½ cup *Red chilli powder – 3 teaspoons *Salt – 1½ teaspoons *Sugar – 1 teaspoon *Coriander powder – 3 teaspoons *Carom seeds (ajwain) – ¼ teaspoon *Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon *White sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon Method 1. This simple but tasty accompaniment goes well with Dal Rice, Roti, Bhakari....
Quick & easy to prepare...
Ingredients...
*Green Chillies...Slit or chopped in Big Pieces...2 Cups
*Oil...1 tbspn
*Nigella seeds... 1/4 tsp
*Turmeric Powder...1/4 tsp
*Salt...1/4 tsp
*Tamarind pulp...1.5 tbspn
*Jaggery... 2 tsp
*Coriander Seeds Powder...1 tsp
Method
*Heat Oil in a pan, add Nigella seeds and Turmeric Powder.
*Add Salt & Green Chillies.
*Saute for 3 minutes, add Tamarind pulp and Jaggery. Mix properly.
*Mix properly, add Coriander Seeds Powder.
*Cook for 2..3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
*Chillies should be little crunchy, they taste better.
*Switch off the gas.
*Goes very well with Dal Rice, Roti, Bhakari.
*Refrigerate for longer shelf life.
