Since I had very little time today, I prepared this quick version of Aluchi Vadi. It has the same delicious traditional taste but is much easier and faster to make. Ingredients (1 cup = 150 ml) *Washed & finely chopped colocasia (taro) leaves, – 2 cups *Tamarind – a lemon-sized piece *Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup *Rice flour – ½ cup *Red chilli powder – 3 teaspoons *Salt – 1½ teaspoons *Sugar – 1 teaspoon *Coriander powder – 3 teaspoons *Carom seeds (ajwain) – ¼ teaspoon *Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon *White sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon Method 1. Ingredients....
*Wheat Flour 1 Cup
*Melted Homemade Ghee 1 Cup
*Sugar 1 Cup
*Banana 1
*Green Cardamom Powder 1/2 tsp
*Milk 2.5 Cups
Method....
*Dry roast wheat flour in a iron kadhai on low flame till aroma releases..
*Add Melted Ghee n roast on low flame till brown in colour or ghee releases from the sides...
*Add milk ... stir n mix...cook till milk is fully absorbed...
*Add Sugar n mix...cover with the lid for 3..4 minutes... remove the lid n mix again... Switch off the gas...
*Add Cardamom Powder n finely sliced Banana...mix..
*Serve hot ..
*Banana gives a very sweet n nice flavour...
